Albany, TX - Driver Killed in Fiery Semi-Truck Crash on Hwy 6

Albany, TX (February 23, 2024) - On Wednesday, February 21, a driver was killed following a fiery crash with an 18-wheeler in the Albany area. The deadly accident was reported on Highway 6 that afternoon at around 4 p.m. Local reports indicated that a sport utility vehicle and a semi-truck hauling rocks collided on the roadway. 

The SUV caught fire as a result of the crash and started a small grass fire. The highway was closed from County Roads 122 to 137 while emergency crews were present. The driver of the SUV suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. 

No other injuries have been reported at this time. The identities of the involved parties have been withheld. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available.
