Houston, TX – Woman Critically Injured in Fire on Tidewater Dr

Houston, TX (August 18, 2020) – A fire incident in the Houston area early Tuesday left one woman critically injured. Just after 4:30 a.m., on August 18, the Houston Fire Department responded to the site of a residential fire incident in the Almeda area.

Reports show that a fire broke out at a residence in the 4800 block of Tidewaters Drive for unknown reasons. Flames were located in the rear of the home. Firefighters responded to the scene of the fire and had a tough time entering the home. Crews were able to forcefully enter the premises, where they located a woman, who was in her 80s or 90s. The woman was unconscious at the scene and had extensive burn injuries. Firefighters pulled the woman from her home and rushed her to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Crews were attempting to locate a male who lived at the residence but they were unsuccessful. After an extended time, crews were able to extinguish the fire and declare it under control. At this time, investigations surrounding the incident are ongoing.
