Lubbock, TX – One Killed in Plane Crash near E 37th St

Lubbock, TX (October 27, 2020) – A plane crash reported early Monday evening claimed one person’s life in the Lubbock area. Just before 4 p.m., on October 26, the Lubbock Fire Rescue, the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Federal Aviation Administration responded to the site of a plane accident on East 37th Street.

Reports provided by authorities show that a small single-engine plane crashed in the backyard of a home located in the 200 block of East 37th Street. The impact of the crash caused the plane to catch on fire.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire quickly. One person was located inside the plane, suffering from fatal injuries. The person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, investigations surrounding the incident are underway with various law enforcement agencies.
