Ozona, TX (March 25, 2020) – A pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning sadly claimed one man’s life. Just before 7:30 a.m., on March 24, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Avenue J.

Reports indicate that 69-year-old Juan Francisco Esparza was crossing the intersection of Avenue J and Avenue K, while heading westbound when he was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Esparza suffered critical injuries in the collision. He was rushed to Ozona Family Health Center where authorities sadly declared him deceased.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.
