Avalon, TX - Teen Injured in School Bus Accident at FM 55 & Goodwyn Rd

Avalon, TX (April 14, 2024) - On Friday, April 12, there were reported injuries after a crash involving a school bus in the Avalon area. The incident was reported that afternoon around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 55 and Goodwyn Road. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. 

Local reports revealed that a Maserati Ghibli was headed southbound when it entered a lane of traffic with a school bus. The vehicle crashed into the side of the school bus. The impact caused the bus to overturn onto its side and fall into a nearby ditch. Local reports revealed that neither the bus driver nor the driver and passenger in the Maserati were hurt in the crash. However, a 15-year-old onboard the bus was hurt. The injured party was taken to Methodist Midlothian Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available.
