Dallas, TX - Woman Fatally Hit on Lyndon B Johnson Fwy

Dallas, TX (April 19, 2024) - On Thursday, April 18, a woman was hit and killed after a crash in the Dallas area. The accident was reported at the 9500 block of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway early that morning around 1 a.m. It was later revealed that the victim was standing outside her vehicle after an initial crash when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. 

The woman was traveling eastbound in the far right lane near Skillman Street when she drove between two temporary construction barriers and hit a plastic barrier. The vehicle veered back onto the highway where it came to a stop in the right lane. The woman exited her car and was standing in the doorway when she was struck by a van. The injured party suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
