Fort Worth, TX - Firefighter Hurt in Truck Crash on Sundance Sq

Fort Worth, TX (April 2, 2024) - A two-vehicle crash involving a fire engine in the Fort Worth area resulted in injuries on Monday, April 1. The incident was reported early that morning at around 7:29 a.m. on Sundance Square downtown. The fire truck was en route to assist with a call when it collided with a sport utility vehicle. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render the necessary aid. The impact caused the SUV to overturn. A firefighter traveling on the truck was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. It was later revealed that the driver of the SUV may have run a red light leading up to the accident. The driver was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
