Austin, TX – Deputy Struck by Vehicle on McNeil Dr

Austin, TX (October 22, 2020) – An auto accident reported on Tuesday morning left one person injured. At around 9:20 a.m., on October 20, the Austin Police Department responded to the site of a crash on McNeil Drive.

Reports show that a group of three Travis County Sheriff’s Office deputies was conducting a traffic stop in a school zone. One of the deputies went out into an empty lane to stop traffic. The driver of the car continued forward, causing their silver Lexus ES 350 to strike the deputy.

The deputy was injured in the accident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of injuries. At this time, investigations are currently underway with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
